Wheels

Wheels was written in the Winter and Fall of 2021 for Daniel Lippel for solo guitar in 19-tone equal temperament. Wheels is a collection of six short pieces:

1. After Villa-Lobos
2. After Petrarch
3. After Shivkumar Sharma
4. After Barrios
5. After Brouer
6. Coda

As a classically-trained guitarist myself, this piece brings me back to consider some of my favorite classical guitar repertoire while at the same time exploring some of the quasi-tonal possibilities of the 19tet tuning system.
